Flat vector neon
Can a diffusion model give me a flat vector look, and not just something that resembles one?
Part 01
From V1 to V10
I took a flat, graphic reference and tried to get something like it from Krea 2 using only text. The reference served for style analysis; nothing was copied.

The prompt, as I wrote it
Vertical 4:5, exactly 1024 by 1280. PURE FLAT VECTOR POSTER, original adult anime woman, close-up head and upper torso, three-quarter turn, white bob with straight bangs, huge simplified cyan eyes, tiny nose, closed graphic lips. Six versions in under an hour
On 30 August I ran versions one after another, some only minutes apart: first to push a portrait toward flat vector, then to find a neo-pop poster look. I changed one thing at a time when I could. I show six of the nine: V4, V6 and V10 came out without the outfit and I left them out.

First pass. I used the reference image only to analyse the style and asked Krea 2 for the portrait from text.

What I learned
What made it flat wasn’t the wording but the LoRA. V2 asked for “strict flat vector-like” in the prompt and stayed shaded; V3 put a minimalist-vector-art LoRA in charge and got the flattest result.
One change per version lets me see what each change does. From V1 to V5 only the strictness, the LoRA weight, the outline or the outfit changed, and I could tell which was which.
When a style stalls, change the subject before changing the model. I moved from the portrait to a neo-pop monster girl and only then tried other models (Illustrious, Krea 2 Turbo).
Check the whole image before showing a version. Three of the nine came out without the outfit (V4, V6 and V10), which is why V5 asks for an opaque one and why those three aren’t here.

I never got a real vector. The result is flat and graphic, but it is still a raster image from a diffusion model with soft edges; for a true vector I would have to trace it.
